Who we are
CUCUMBER is a modern therapy practice supporting individuals and relationships with evidence-based care that’s inclusive, emotionally attuned, and refreshingly real.
At CUCUMBER, we believe therapy should feel like a conversation with someone who genuinely cares—not a clinical checkbox. We work with people who want more from life and their relationships but find themselves held back by trauma, disconnection, or patterns they can’t quite name. Our approach is grounded in evidence-based practice, but we bring it to life with warmth, curiosity, and humour. Whether you're exploring anxiety, intimacy, identity, or meaning, our team is here to support your growth—relationally, emotionally, and sexually.
The Ethos of CUCUMBER
CUCUMBER was founded in March 2024 by Emma Vasey in response to the lack of quality, inclusive therapy and sexology options in South Melbourne and the Bayside area—especially for couples and individuals navigating relational trauma or stress who want a sex-positive and strengths-focused approach.
We’re proud to do therapy differently. Every therapist at CUCUMBER is trained to integrate the emotional, psychological, somatic, relational, and sexological dimensions of the human experience. This means no surface-level fixes, no impersonal pathologising sessions—just real connection, real care, and therapy that honours your full complexity.
We centre the human experience over business profits, and that ethos shapes every decision we make—from how we train, to how we show up in session, to how we speak with you at the door. You’ll find no falsities here—just honesty, humility, and professionals who genuinely walk the talk.
Whether you're a Gen X parent working to break cycles of emotional suppression, or a neurodivergent, non-monogamous Gen Z navigating trauma and identity, you’ll be met with respect, warmth, and expertise.
CUCUMBER now sees clients in person in our Port Melbourne room. We proudly support clients from across Port Phillip, Bayside, and South-East Melbourne—from South Melbourne, Albert Park, and St Kilda, to Elwood, Brighton, South Yarra, and Prahran. We also offer online therapy across Victoria and interstate via telehealth.
In the future, we hope to offer mentorship to the next generation of inclusive, relationally focused sex therapists.

Our Future
We are still within the early stages of what will one day become The Cucumber Clinic.
Currently, the Founder of CUCUMBER, Emma Vasey is the only practicing therapists and sexologist available for booking. We also accept and support upcoming sexologists who are looking for a Student Placement.
Within the year we are looking to accept new psychotherapists and sexologists, with an emphasis on supporting new-graduates with potential. We aim to consolidate our position in Melbourne’s south, but are open to expanding to different locations in the future.
